Reflexively Contrarian (“RxC” for short) was created as a vehicle for exploring the social, cultural, and historical impact of DIY punk rock and various other underground music subcultures. Some of that exploration will be journalistic in nature, and some will be an examination through the critical lens of philosophy. However, it won’t be entirely written in a dry and academic style that many readers would find inaccessible.
RxC also exists to help promote and disseminate knowledge and understanding of the music and ideas of DIY punk rock and other underground music subcultures.
But above all, RxC intends to be an interesting, thought-provoking read that exposes readers to new-to-them music and ideas, and to present new and interesting information and insights about bands and music that punk rock and underground music fans would enjoy learning.
If you don’t see or hear what you’d like covered about punk or underground music and subcultures on RxC, lend us a hand by contributing your own writing. If you’re knowledgeable about these subjects, are open to the having others review and edit your work, can follow instructions and meet publishing deadlines, we’ll consider your contribution. All creative content that is submitted by the community is done on a volunteer basis.
